Ugg it is Sunday BUT No Rest for me

Today is my busiest day of the week. It's all about schedules, pre-post, billing, inventory and just a million more other things I HAVE TO DO.... But I love it, honestly if I can be vain for a minute. It's just proves how important I am, even if it's just for one day LOL.... Oh, lets throw in it's POOL LEAGUE tonight too and not just any night, it's Play Off's for us.... Last on the totem pole (oh wait that would be we are the most important, so let me correct that statement and say "Top of he totem pole - so that would make us the underdog of the night").

Yummy Yankee Cooking in Progress

    Prep Time:
     1 hour
  • Cook Time: 4 hours
  • Total Time: 5 hours
  • Yield: 8-10 servings

  • 4 ½ pounds raw corned beef, I used point cut (once cooked; only about a third of that weight will be usable so plan accordingly and buy more if feeding a crowd. Two thirds gets lost in cooking and trimming)

Spice bag mix

  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • ½ teaspoon whole mustard seeds
  • ½ teaspoon whole coriander seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon whole all spice berries
  • ½ inch square piece of whole fresh ginger
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • (Alternately you can omit the spices and use a commercial pickling spice mix)
  • 3 pounds green cabbage
  • 2 pounds new red potatoes
  • 2 pounds carrots
  • 2 pounds whole small onions (8 onions weighing 4 ounces each)
  • 1 pound yellow or white turnip
  • 1 pound parsnips
  • 1 pound yellow beets

Other Ingredients You Will Need

  • 2 tablespoons corn starch

Child says "I think I'm Going To Have A Wife"

At Sunday School they were learning how God created everything, including human beings. Johnny was especially intent when the teacher told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs.
Later in the week his mother noticed him lying down as though he were ill, and said, "Johnny, what is the matter?"
Johnny responded, "I have pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."

Everyone here would like to Wish you a very Happy Sunday!!

Altek and KSPS what a TEAM

We have finished up the August 2017 membership campaign and tallied the pledges that were called in during the event. I wanted to give you a final accounting of how your wonderful effort contributed to the stations success.
Many viewers called into renewed their memberships or gave an additional gift. We also welcomed many new members to the Friends of KSPS for which we are truly grateful.
Throughout the 8 days of campaigning, viewers have called in with $133,005 from 984 promised contributions!
As we near the end of our fiscal year, we are grateful for the support the campaign brought in and hope to reach our goals by August 31st.

KSPS Public Television is a place where quality and excellence count.  We strive to be exceptional, competing in a fast changing technological world.  At KSPS TV, we make substantial television happen, with limited budgets, funded by people who care.  Just like YOU!  You cared enough to give your time . . . a generous contribution we truly appreciate.

If you would be interested in joining us again please let you group coordinator know. Or if you would like to join us as an individual telephone volunteer, you are invited to join Team Friends. Our resource pool of volunteers we call upon to help fill in when we need extra individual volunteers. Just email me that you would like to be contacted for future Team Friends opportunities. Thank you Deputy Craig

As a daughter of a police officer and a granddaughter of a state trooper, I was so bullied as a child because of the blue blood we had in our veins. I can't even imagine the crap modern kids go through because of all the entitlement we feel we are owed. Great job answering that! People need to realize that there are MANY things that LE and Emergency respondents can do that regular citizens can not (going through red lights at intersections, etc.). It is part of the job (and as you honestly stated, sometimes may NOT be). However, people also need to look at the fact that LE and other Emergency Respondents are expected to do things to keep everyone safe, and sometimes the laws don't apply to respondents in those situations.

If you would like to know more about Deputy Craig, you can visit his page at

Essential Oil Queen, Young Living

So Young Living is everywhere right? 80% of my friends use it, and I do when I can afford it. But some of these independent distributor drive me crazy. They talk about it ALL THE TIME. I've been to their homes but don't smell a thing. Have it but don't use it?? Why?? And then came the day that I entered Heather Perez's home. You could actually smell it at her door step (which I am sorry, makes you forget about the messy cubby - kid inflicted for sure lol, you know toys, shoes thrown everywhere) but then, by the time you enter the house, your body is defiantly reacting to the smells in a super good way, like its floating on some healthy cloud you haven't been on in a very long time. This particular lady so believes in her position as a independent distributor for Young Living. I was blown away, and because of the smell of her home and the feeling it gave me, I now use it in my own home. So my lemon friends if you want to sell more oils, use your home first to showcase its powers - DUH

Now what is my personal favorite oils?

Help a Parent pay for School Lunches

Yes there are school systems that will not let a child go without lunch, BUT when that child is reminded while in the lunch line, that their parents are overdue, that embarrassment is heard by the children behind them. Bullying is so bad, lets not allow that to be an issue. All you have to do is call ANY school and ask if there is a parent behind or needs help with lunches or just want to help a family of 7 kids out, then you can give money directly to the school to help a family out. It is really that easy. $5.00 pays for a couple of days of lunches - so anything you can do will help!!

Edge of the seat movie, Hacksaw Ridge

First, a little well known fact, I do not do War Movies! I am not even sure what drew me into watching this. It certainly wasn't recommended to me. But, this movie has had such an impact in my personal life. I am talking about Hacksaw Ridge. Watch the clip and feel the power for yourself. To be a Christian these days has a whole new definition. But for this hero, I think Jesus himself could agree.

For sure this a must see film. I didn't like all the blood and guts all over the screen but the fact is WAR is indeed bloody and can't hide from that fact at all.

Now lets talk about the actor. I have a thing for voices (always have) and his WOWZA.

Andrew Garfield what an amazing actor. I had never seen him in anything, nothing that I can think of that is. I hope to see Andrew in up coming projects!!

Andrew Silva's Birthday prank cake, Cat Litter Cake

Oh yeah this really happened!! REVENGE cake for one young man who pulled off a little stunt a couple of weeks ago lol, got it back.... Happy Birthday Andrew!! Your a GREAT kid....

  • 1 Spice or German Chocolate Cake Mix
  • 1 White Cake Mix
  • 1 package White Sandwich Cookies
  • 1 large package Vanilla Instant Pudding Mix
  • Green food coloring
  • 12 small Tootsie Rolls
  • 1 *new* kitty litter box
  • 1 *new* kitty litter box plastic liner
  • 1 *new* pooper scooper
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans). Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble. Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in blender, they tend to stick, so scrape often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup.
To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix using a fork or shake in a jar.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, mix with the cake and "feel" it, you don't want it soggy, just moist; gently combine.
Line new, clean kitty litter box. Put mixture into litter box. Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls and bury in mixture.
Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly over the top; this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.
Heat remaining Tootsie Rolls, 3 at a time in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle with cookie crumbs. This is my addition--only: spread 5 of the remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box; sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs.
Serve with a *new* pooper-scooper.
